Taylor Hicks Rocks!

I know many of my friends at TMS followed Summer's progress. Since so many were invested, I figured I will provide Summer updates over here at THR.

For those new to this little one...Summer is the daughter of a very close friend. Summer was born with multiple heart conditions -- the first four months of her life we spent in the hospital in critical condition with many setbacks before surgery could be safely performed. .

With the help of God, lots of prayers and by the determination from that little one herself - she has been released from the hospital after surgery and is doing very well. She is gaining weight and no longer classified as 'failure to thrive.'

She is not totally out of the woods...since the doctor's are concerned about winter colds etc. Everyone is hoping for the best and protecting her from the average germ right now.

I am still asking for a recent picture. As soon as I have one I will post it. For now, I am happy knowing this little one is at home with family after 4 months of separation.

Summer is so precious! I'm so glad she's home with her family! What is she going to be for her first Halloween?

I have lots of pictures of her in the hospital with wires & tubes coming out of her. I was there often and nearly passed out every time -- I never knew I was such a wimp.

I called her Mom today and demanded 'at home' pics. So I hope soon I will have some to post.

I want to let you know while Summer was struggling in the hospital and I shared things with you all - I never let Sandi (Summer's Mom) know I was dong this. She just had too much on her plate at the time.

When Summer came home I told Sandi about how all my friends were praying for Summer - and recruiting others to send good thoughts. (Thank you TMW and KEB ).

Sandi literally started to cry. She wanted me to tell each and every one of you thank you! Sandi firmly believes that Summer survived those critical times because of everyone that prayed for her and kept her in good thoughts.

Denise, please let Sandi know that the prayers for her sweet baby girl to keep getting better will continue going up. I know I am invested in this now and want to know how she continues to do.

She's such a precious little girl. I love that you keep us abreast of her progress.
